Doors Open at 7:10 PM. Come early to mix & mingle!
The Dances of Universal Peace (also known as "Sufi Dancing") honor the sacred traditions of the earth by incorporating mantras and scripture of the world’s religions into melodic moving meditations. The evening will include singing, dancing, bell ringing, and prayers, with everyone participating.
The songs and easy circle dances are taught in the moment.
These dances are a form of spiritual practice for many dancers, and you can help maintain the sacred, joyful atmosphere as we sing and dance. It is customary to sing whole-heartedly, then hold a minute or so of silence after a dance ends, and to refrain from talking throughout the evening.
You may want to wear comfortable leather or soft-soled shoes, or socks for dancing.
We are thankful for this opportunity to have you dance with us.
Dances are offered in Gainesville and nearby communities (as well as around the world) to uplift people who attend and spread the vibration of peace.

Helping Hands
On Mon, Dec. 30, we will meet at the Fellowship Hall of UCG at 5:00 to practice the music, dances, & readings. The musicians, of course, & others who are interested in being involved are welcome. DiAnahita will treat everyone to dinner after practice. A couple of us will set up after the English Country Dance is over at 10:00 (We will be asking people who are there already to help us move tables in, put on tablecloths, & arrange bells & candles) We will also need people to greet arrivals on New Year's Eve, & some to take down after the dance - blow out candles, pack up bells, & carry boxes out ... that goes fast with many people helping.

Truly lovely and nourishing for the soul! Many blessings in the New Year ♥
Your presence fills the space with clear, connected, sacred energy.
The Global Peace Dance was such a wonderful way to end the year. I am SO glad that John and I came. Never having experienced Dances of Universal Peace, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. What I got was joy, love and a lightness about our world that gave me hope and vigor for the New Year.
What a fabulous gift. Thank you, Diana, for all you do. Namaste Jane P.S. Wasn't it great how John's demeanor changed from uptightness to joy! I told him I was sending my observation of him to you and he laughed in agreement.
Thanks for being such a dear and close friend for so many great years. I admire your passion for the dances and Sufi path and I'm in awe of your natural leadership and musical skills. I marvel at your energy level and wonder how many lives you've touched in teaching the Dances. Sharing time at gatherings with you is fulfilling.

An Inspiring Breakfast
Dearest DiAnahita,
On this morning after Thanksgiving, I keep thinking about the morning after last week's dance event. Living in Ocala, & not usually an overnight guest, I wasn't quite certain what to expect on a Sunday morning at Peacock Paradise.
Everything about our special breakfast together felt like an extension of the sense of reverence I feel during the dances themselves. It went far beyond the deliciousness of organic eggs & local honey. Particularly wonderful, I found, was the way we listened openly & attentively to one person at a time. I believe that it was from this state of heart focused attunement to one another that we spontaneously decided to hold hands & offer our prayerful envisioning on behalf of one member's search...& then again in support of another's. It felt exactly as if we were infusing the substance of divine soil with seeds of the highest possibility.
Somehow the six of us, gathered around your festive table, reached a place of connection & communion that epitomizes what mindful eating together can generate. I can't help but wish that families gathered everywhere this season could taste the same soul-touching experience we savored!
Thank you for creating the space for such beauty to emerge. With Love, Baraka

"Breaking" News from Paradise
A tall live pine tree fell on the cottage! Apparently there were termites in the roots. Looks like there isn't too much damage...we'll see when it rains. Any ideas about how to get it off?

Good Morning Diana!
I just wanted to let you know that Aurora and I were completely moved by the dance that Saturday. I have 3 daughters, Aurora is the oldest, and she and I have had a difficult relationship over the years, especially last year due to some tragic events. I've been working on healing the relationship and it has improved slowly.
Nevertheless, something spiritual happened to us that magical Saturday. We haven't argued once since then. Aurora is much more affectionate with me, and we get along better than ever before.
I know this transformation is a result of our experience with all of you. I consider our new relationship a miracle as the result of the prayers in recitation, song, and dance.
On the way home that night Aurora said that this was the best day of her life. I owe it all to you and the group. The spirit of peace was tangible that day, and we were able to bring this life force home with us. My heart, mind, and soul thank you for this. I am planning on attending again in April and May.
Thank you, again. Elena
DiAnahita, I read what Elena wrote, and thought; what a positive result from your bringing in the youth idea. I also thought how the dances make you love people who you otherwise may never have. They really promote cooperation, and a spiritual focus on one love that makes everyone naturally more harmonious. Universal Peace Dance, of course. What a balm for the generation gap. And at risk teens.
"Dancing Peacock Paradise is an amazing space to deepen dance practice. It is very beautiful and inviting, an experience not to be missed. I have spent wonderful, magical days here over the years and cherish all. I look forward to returning."
