“Deepening into the Sacred”   Maitreya brings an open-hearted presence to the Dances of Universal Peace through his instrumentation, voice, & love of the Dances as a community practice.  A guide in the Sufi Ruhaniat, Maitreya leads in Sarasota, & around the world as one of the most-invited dance leaders because of his deepening practices & inspired zikrs. Maitreya & DiAnahita will co-lead the Saturday Retreat & optional Sunday morning in the woods at Dancing Peacock Paradise by beautiful heart-shaped Beauty Lake.  This event will gather Dancers from all around Florida & beyond, to experience dances & zikr from the originators, Sufi teachings, immersion in nature, & fellowship among all ages.  This is the once-a-year time we invite parents & grandparents to bring children to Peacock Paradise to join us for the first few dances, & then go to the playhouse for supervised art & crafts or games. Maiteya's CD ~ Almighty Peace Available at the Retreat Bring some extra cash to purchase a CD or more ~ they make great gifts.  His original zikrs were recorded with Sufi friends to varied & interesting musical accompaniment.  Many songs you may know & we may dance to at the retreat; then you can listen again & again.  $15 - $20 donation toward production costs. I listened to previews of some of the songs on Amazon. It is so beautiful! Morning Coffee, Tea, & Conversation while you register at the cottage ...highlights conserving  this threatened species, whose presence goes back 60 million years.  Gopher tortoises are known for remarkable digging skills, using shovel-like forearms to  carve  out  burrows  averaging several yards deep & 5 yards long. This  keystone species'  burrows give  shelter  to more than  350 other native species.  In spring it is increasingly active,  leaving its underground burrow in search of spring greenery to eat &  a mate.  Watch for them along the driveway.
